Accommodation

Accommodation has been reserved on behalf of conference delegates at Rydges Melbourne Hotel and Quest Gordon Place until Friday, 9 December 2016. Accommodation will be allocated in order of receipt of bookings and is subject to availability. Accommodation bookings should be made as part of the online registration process.

Arrival time

Please indicate your estimated time of arrival at the hotel on your registration form. If you wish to guarantee your room is ready before the hotel check-in time it is recommended that you book and pay for the room for the evening prior to your arrival. Failure to advise your arrival time if arriving after 6.00 pm, may result in your room being released.

Payment for accommodation

A credit card number is required at the time of booking which will be passed on to the hotel to guarantee your booking. If you wish the hotel to settle your account with a credit card of which you are not the signatory, you must provide written authority to the hotel to do so. Rydges will charge the credit card in full upon check in and Quest on Gordon will charge the credit card in full upon check out. Alternatively, you may pre-pay the full amount of your accommodation via cheque or EFT directly to the hotel within 30 days prior to check-in.

Changes to your accommodation booking

Please notify your requests for changes in writing via email to the conference secretariat.

Cancellations

All cancellations must be advised by email to the conference secretariat. Please be aware that each hotel has a specific cancellation policy and this is listed below in the information about each hotel.

The hotel’s sleek and stylish Locanda Bar offers a hearty breakfast, a place to catch up for coffee, lunch or dinner. The heated rooftop swimming pool and fitness centre means guests can maintain their daily workouts even on vacation.

Room type: Deluxe room
The Deluxe rooms are designed with a distinct cosmopolitan style, complete with contemporary furniture and great city views. Rooms feature a queen-size Rydges Dream Bed (or two singles), flat screen television, reading area, workstation featuring media hub with high-speed internet connection.

Check in/Check out: Check-in is available from 2.00 pm. Check-out before 11.00 am.

Car parking: is available at the Wilsons Car Park located directly below the hotel. Guests simply take a ticket from the boom gate on entry and park as normal – they will then need to present that ticket at the hotel reception desk to receive the discounted rate of $20 per exit. It may be necessary to leave car keys with the car park attendant.

Security bond: Upon check-in you are requested to provide a credit card for authorisation for incidental charges. A pre-authorisation of $1.00 will be charged to your card and will be refunded by your financial institution five to seven business days after check-out.

Payment: The hotel will charge your credit card in full upon check-in. If you wish the hotel to settle your account with a credit card of which you are not the signatory, you must provide written authority for the hotel to do so. Please contact the conference secretariat for a third party credit card form. All incidental charges incurred during your stay are your own responsibility and must be settled on check-out.

Credit card service fees: 1.5% service fee will apply to all MasterCard and Visa credit card transactions. 3.5% service fee will apply to all American Express and Diners Club credit card transactions.

Cancellation policy: A cancellation fee of one night's accommodation will apply to any booking cancelled 30 – seven days prior to arrival. Cancellations with seven days prior to arrival and no shows will be charged 100% cancellation fee. Any cancellation fee will automatically be charged to the credit card provided for room guarantee.

Quest Gordon Place is an enchanting National Trust listed property providing quality serviced apartment accommodation. This four star, unique heritage listed property is a hidden oasis located within walking distance of the conference venue (Rydges Melbourne on Exhibition Street). Quest Gordon Place provides convenient access to the Royal Exhibition Buildings, St Vincent’s Hospital, The Parliament of Victoria, and is in the heart of Melbourne's vibrant Chinatown. Surrounded by the ambience of an inner courtyard, Quest Gordon Place offers studio apartment accommodation with an on-site restaurant and breakfast room service and onsite outdoor heated pool and BBQ area.

24 hour reception for Quest Gordon Place is located at 43 Lonsdale Street. Once guests have checked in, staff will escort you and assist with luggage to Gordon Place, which is situated right next door.

Room type: Studio apartment
Studio apartments are compact and suitable for a short stay, sleeping up to two guests in a queen bed. Apartments feature flat screen TV with cable channels, telephone with IDD, hairdryer, and kitchenette facilities with cooktop, microwave, bar fridge and kettle. Daily housekeeping service is included, excluding Sundays.

Check in/Check out: Check in from 2.00 pm. Check out before 10.00 am.

Car parking: is available off-site at a special discounted rate in a nearby public car park – please ask at reception for a discount voucher. Car parking charges are per 24 hour or per exit basis, vehicle clearance limit is 1.9 metres.

Internet: included broadband internet access of 300MB daily.

Payment: While your credit card is processed upon check-out, the hotel will take a pre authorisation upon check-in that holds the required payment. If you wish the hotel to settle your account with a credit card of which you are not the signatory, please contact the conference secretariat for a third party credit card form. All incidental charges incurred during your stay are your own responsibility and must be settled on check-out.

Credit card service fees: All Visa, MasterCard (including Visa Debit or MasterCard Debit cards), American Express and Diners cards will incur a 1.5% Merchant Service Fee.

Cancellation policy: A cancellation fee of one night's accommodation will apply to any booking cancelled within 48 hours of arrival time. Any cancellation fee will automatically be charged to the credit card provided for room guarantee.
