Wool4School Student Design Competition webinar

HEIA, in conjunction with The Woolmark Company, was delighted to offer its members an opportunity to participate in a webinar about the exciting Wool4School Design Competition. In this recording of the presentation, Katrina Wheaton-Penniall provided an overview of the Wool4School Design Competition, and an insight into how to implement it into the classroom easily. She provided valuable information on how to get started, what resources are available including some fabulous video clips, an overview of the four lesson plans, along with direct links to the Australian Curriculum.

Flavour Forecast Recipe Challenge webinar

The HEIA and McCormick Flavour Forecast Recipe Challenge is a real-life design challenge that addresses the Home Economics curriculum. In this recording of the presentation, Simone Fergie from McCormick Foods Australia briefly outlined the Flavour Forecast trends; Dr Janet Reynolds provided an overview of this year's challenge and an insight into what judges are looking for in the student entries. Dianne McGuire from Hornsby Girls High School discussed how she tackled the Challenge with her Year 9 and Year 10 students. Dianne's classes have been entering the Challenge since its inception so she had lots of advice and tips about how she has approached the Challenge.
