"Horizons
in Home Economics" |
 |
“Horizons in Home Economics” is an appropriate title
for our conference. Home Economists are people who are constantly
looking to the future to help make a better world for others.
Exploring the latest Information Communication Technologies,
clarifying, and examining the impact and reinforcing the importance
of values in our society; debating health issues on a national
level as we battle with increasing obesity and health related
diseases; considering the implications of new information and
research for home economics practice; reinforcing the significance
of sustainability for the future of our world; recognising and
dealing with changes in social relationships – these are
just some issues on our horizon.
So pack your bags and join us at the historical four and a half
star, Grace Hotel in Sydney CBD, be inspired by motivational
presenters from diverse sectors of the home economics field.
I am confident that keynote speakers, presenters, workshops,
celebrity chefs and industry visits offered during the conference
will empower delegates and offer a wonderful opportunity to
network with home economists in business, health, education
and industry.

|
We will take advantage of one of Sydney’s top function centres,
L’aqua to host the welcoming reception and then at the Dockside
in Darling Harbour for the formal conference dinner.
|
|
Stretch your learning, and make sure you allow time to enjoy pre
and post conference tours and activities to enjoy the largest and
arguably the most beautiful city in Australia. Cruise the famous
Sydney Harbour or climb the Harbour Bridge for spectacular once
in a lifetime experience. Explore the historic Rocks area, shop
at Darling Harbour or just relax at the renowned Bondi beach.
|
| |
I whole-heartedly encourage you to take up this opportunity to raise
self-awareness, to learn, accept challenges and make a positive
contribution to society through home economics. We look forward
to seeing you in Sydney in January 2007.
