Textile workshop
HEIA-NT conducted two half-day workshops on Silk Fabric making and embellishment under the inspirational direction of Michelle Truscott. In the first workshop the creative side of members was tapped as they endeavoured toturn hanks of silk fibre into vibrant silk fabric. Sufficient time was allowed to ensure the fabric dried and set in the increasingly humid weather before a follow-up workshop was held a month later. The sewing machines were out in force as participants focused on the embellishing the silk fabric with machine embroidery, beading, etc before constructing the fabric into a very stylish clutch bag.
