Climate
Brisbane enjoys year-round sunshine and August is pleasant with sunny, mild days and cool evenings. The average daily temperatures in August are around 20°C during the day and 11°C overnight.

Dress
The dress for the conference is smart casual. We suggest that a jacket be worn in sessions as air conditioning can sometimes be cool.

Messages
A message board will be located next to the conference registration desk. Please request potential callers to contact the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre and ask for the HEIA(Q) conference.

Travel and transfers
Airport/Hotel transfers
Brisbane Airport is conveniently located around 20 km north-east of the CBD, around a 20-minute drive. The domestic and international terminals provide easy access to the city centre through a range of transport options:

Bus
Coachtrans operates bus services between Brisbane Airport and the Brisbane Transit Centre in the CBD at a cost of $14 per person one way (return $28), as well as to the door of all major CBD Hotels at an additional cost. Refer to www.coachtrans.com.au for further information.

Airtrain
The Airtrain links both airport terminals with the CBD and runs 7 days a week. . A one-way single adult ticket is $14.50. For discounted online bookings please visit www.airtrain.com.au.

Car hire
Driving to the conference venue from Brisbane Airport takes around 20–30 minutes. Avis, Hertz, Europcar and Budget have a representative at Brisbane Airport. Bookings can be made online through their respective websites.

Taxi
Taxi transfers from Brisbane Airport to the city centre cost approximately $45.

Travel Insurance
The conference organisers recommend that delegates purchase travel insurance, including cover for non-refundable registration fees, prior to departure.
