Awards

Fellowships

Fellowships can be awarded to members who have made an outstanding contribution to HEIA and the home economics profession. Successful nominees will have made an outstanding contribution, at a national and/or Divisional level, to the profession and/or to HEIA Inc., such that their contribution has impacted positively on the way the profession (at large) thinks, acts and/or is perceived.
The Guidelines and Nomination Form provide further information.

Leadership awards

Leadership Awards recognise members for significant leadership, at a national level, to the Home Economics Institute of Australia Inc., or to the field of home economics.
Leadership — that is, promoting initiated direction — may be demonstrated in relation to one significant project, process or event, or across a number of projects, processes or events. Leadership in this sense should not be confused with effective service or management.
The Guidelines and Nomination Form provide further information.

Resek Scholarships

A generous donation to honour the contribution made by Misses Ellen and Marietta Resek to Home Economics has enabled the establishment of the Resek Scholarship. The purpose of this award is to encourage undergraduate training of Home Economics and to provide financial support to a student enrolled on either a full-time or part-time basis. The Resek Scholarship is available to undergraduate students of a South Australian Tertiary Institution enrolled in the second year or later of a Home Economics Course. The Guidelines Form provides further information.

King and Amy O’Malley Scholarships

Approximately thirty King and Amy O’Malley Scholarships, both undergraduate and postgraduate, are nationally available annually for study in home economics.
