Years as a Home Economist: Not quite there yet

Previous Schools/Workplaces: Have not worked outside of the home for a long time......

What I enjoy about my job: I will love being able to share and learn with teenagers, such an interesting age group to spend time with.

Other Professional Involvement: Even though I have no formal qualifications I have been involved with a lot of catering for functions e.g. weddings, and also dressmaking (funnily enough most of my clients were teachers) over the past 15 years or so.

Most Influential Mentor: Sue Fuller, an amazing teacher with so much to share.

Most Influential PD: Any HEIA (SA) function I have attended so far....

Personal Interests: I love cooking, especially when others enjoy the effort you have made to make something. Sewing is also a passion of mine and I have quite a collection of craft and sewing stuff, he who dies with the most wins, right!!! I also like all sorts of sport, gardening and my three teenage treasures (even though 1 is no longer a teenager) who keep me young (even if only on the inside) and up to date with the current trends and lingo e.g. meh, a very useful sort of word/sound which means whatever, how clever am I....... Who says old dogs can’t learn new tricks.
