2011 is the year for

"Chemistry—our life, our future"

This year we look at how we are an integral part of nature; our fate is tightly linked with chemistry, and its contributions to the well-being of humankind, all over the world.

Whether in the shopping centre, pharmacy or at home, modern life would not be possible without chemistry. Nevertheless we “take these things for granted and behave as though they had always existed" (József Pálinkás; P.Schuld).

2011 is International Year of Forests and International Year of Chemistry

The United Nations designated 2011 to be the International Year of Forests and the International Year of Chemistry.

International Year of Forests is to raise awareness on sustainable management, conservation and sustainable development of all types of forests.

International Year of Chemistry is an initiative aimed at raising the science’s profile.
