We provide services so support people with significantly reduced capacity to remain living in their homes or community. The role of the Home Economist is to ensure that older people have clear, practical information and education about food and healthy eating. Many older people experience loneliness and feelings of isolation which may lead to a decreased appetite. Poor eating habits and skipping meals can place people at risk. The Home Economist can offer advice about easy to prepare meals, use of convenience foods, shopping, and label reading to both clients and carers.
