Learn the steps involved in preparing an indigo vat. Shibori techniques for folding and stitching will be explained and you will prepare and dye fabric. This results in a number of finished effects in the unique indigo colour. Rust and tannin produce lovely golden, black and mauve colours and you will use these on fabric and paper. Safety precautions for working with dyes will also be discussed. During the workshop you will prepare a variety of fabric samples and also have time to dye a silk scarf to take home.
