Foodbank WA is a non denominational, charitable organisation established in Perth in 1994. It distributes food and grocery donations to welfare and community agencies that assist people in need. This workshop includes a site visit of Foodbank's extensive Welshpool facilities.

Expand your understanding of curriculum content addressing issues, trends and innovations related to food diversity and equity. This is an excellent opportunity to gain knowledge about economic and social factors that impact locally on individual, family and community food security.
This Food Science and Technology professional development relates to all units including Units 3A and 3B.

Foodbank exemplifies a complex system playing an important role within the larger and even more complex system of the Western Australian food supply. The Foodbank subsystems include storage, distribution, administration, financial management, sponsorship and education.
Foodbank's vast storage facilities, utilisation of volunteer labour and School Breakfast and FOODcents Program demonstrate values and beliefs related to ensuring that those in need have access to food and the skills to process it.
