Maximum number of participants: 18

Participants will produce a machine embroidered and lined evening bag using a variety of textile techniques that can be applied in the classroom.

Participants will begin by preparing their base fabric with stamping, stencilling, crayons or coloured pencils to provide a background for the machine embroidery.

A variety of machining techniques will be covered to enable participants to complete the fabric, including:

• basic free motion machine embroidery skills
• adjusting tension for different effects
• bobbin work
• taming metallic threads
• machined cords.
