An
Outstanding Professional Service Award was recently presented to Marilyn
Yates.
Marilyn has been a tireless supporter of the Home Economics profession
through both her career with the Department of Education and Training
and her huge voluntary contribution through the professional association.
She has always been at the forefront of promoting the value of the professional
body and has worked determinedly to encourage and support Home Economists,
particularly teachers. Marilyn has been integral in the success of many
state projects including the Value Adding Quest and Annual Technology
and Enterprise State Conference.
In 2001 Marilyn was awarded a HEIA divisional leadership award and the
HEIA 's most prestigious award - Fellowship of Home Economics Institute
of Australia Inc which is awarded to members who have made an outstanding
contribution.She has indeed made and continues to make an outstanding
contribution to the Home Economics profession and we congratulate her
for receiving this award.
HEIA WA would like to continue to nominate someone for this annual award.
To be eligible for this award the person must be a current or past member
of the HEIA WA and have made an outstanding contribution to the association
supporting teachers and education in WA over an extended period of time.

teaching resources
- Professional
Development Coordinator
- Website/ICT
coordinator
- Contribution
over an extended period of time through the management of the association
