Free GenAI learning modules now available

Two new professional learning modules, developed by Education Services Australia in conjunction with Microsoft, are now available to help teachers build confidence using generative AI (GenAI) tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.

The first module is entitled 'AI Readiness: Preparing teachers for safe and effective use of GenAI'; the second module is entitled 'AI Implementation: Strategies for guiding students in safe and effective use of GenAI'. Feedback from teachers has been very positive, with many describing the first module as fantastic, highlighting its clear, practical insights and the strong foundation it provides for confident classroom use. The section on 'writing prompts' was noted as particularly invaluable.

Each self-paced module (60–90 minutes) explores the capabilities and limitations of GenAI, offering practical strategies to support digital literacy for both teachers and students. The modules are free to access, no log-in is required, and a certificate is available on completion.

Completing the modules is a smart way to stay ahead in the evolving education landscape.
