World Home Economics Day
World Home Economics Day: 21 March
Since 21 March 1982, the International Federation for Home Economics (IFHE) has recognised World Home Economics Day (WHED) each year to promote IFHE and the Home Economics profession.
Beginning in 2002, a specific theme has been identified for WHED, providing an opportunity for members, organisations, and professional Home Economists to host events or activities.
In recent years, WHED has gained increasing attention worldwide. To highlight the theme, IFHE publishes a press release each September. Home Economics professionals then organise regional celebrations, often incorporating additional relevant topics specific to their countries or regions.
Further information about WHED, including this year's theme and resources, future themes, and past themes, can be found on the IFHE website
Many divisions hold their King and Amy O'Malley Trust presentations in conjunction with their WHED celebrations.
